Mercantil Sonarmaz, S.A. de C.V., a privately owned company,incorporated in Mexico and located in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Ocean Gold Cruise Tours, Ocean Gold Cruises, Crown Destiny Ship Hotel, Sonador Research, Puerto Viejo Bay Marina and Ocean Gold Cruises MarShips were developed as extensions of the company's commitment to the development and promotion of Mazatlan, the Sea of Cortez, the Mexican Riviera and the Mexican Caribbean in order to:

• Give the world its first cruise opportunity to see the wonders of the Sea of Cortez.
• Promote innovative marine ideas that are beneficial to the preservation of this ocean and its bordering cities and states.
• To give visitors an opportunity to experience the true adventure, culture, history and beauty of Mazatlan and Mexico.
• To promote new opportunities in social and economic possibilities while protecting and adding to the livelihoods of small villages and towns in the states that border the Sea of Cortez, the Riviera, the Gulf and the Caribbean.

While also serving the business arena, as a way to better promote innovative ideas for

1. bringing cruise ships into the area
2. creating new green projects for all areas of Mexico
3. creating new better paying jobs
4. promoting ocean projects that combine marine conservation, history, culture and the romance of Mexico with a modern world

We began research for the feasibility of our ideas in March 2009. During this research we discovered that a completely different approach to marine conservation, research and proposed projects was not only needed, but mandatory. Our due diligence revealed we needed a research vessel that was capable of many tasks, cruise ships that allowed visitors to experience the Sea of Cortez, other ships that allowed visitors to experience the ocean below the surface and not just from the beach, research results that would also inform the world electronically so the world could interact with input and discoveries and the ability to combine all aspects of our business with other industries. It also revealed our ships, projects and business must provide many benefits to local businesses and communities, our related research equipment must be state of the art and our business and projects must have benefits for international involvement, government agencies, science, tourism, export, education, industry, economic development and community involvement.

After almost two years of due diligence, we filed and received our registered corporation on January 11, 2011. We are prepared with the needed information to begin promoting our immediate projects and begin research and development of our future projects.

Our initial goals are to locate and purchase the proposed cruise ships, tour cruise ships, cruise ship hotel, research ship, research boats, submarine, ROV, scientific labs, related equipment and provide for their delivery to Mazatlan, Mexico. The necessary refit and reconstruction of all ships will be done in Mazatlan, Mexico, depending on dry dock capabilities. All related equipment that can be constructed in Mexico will be built here. 

We have the capability to add equipment provided by international research teams to the "Soñador" to complete any venue they require. 

The University of Sinaloa contracted with us to assist in the operation of laboratories, marine nurseries and the installation of 12 miles of Artificial Reef along Mazatlan's coastline using international ideas, input and proven practices.

We believe the most serious challenges confronting us are ocean sustainability, visitor experience of our ocean, environmental implications, tourist attractions and revenue for local communities. 

We also believe that the general public is not aware of the actual issues in the ocean. Our goals are not only creating  a unique and exciting experience for visitors from around the world, but also scientific work that betters the ocean and environment for the next visit and visitor. An environment that allows the public to engage Mexico with an ocean adventure.

Research is vital to the preservation of our shorelines and local waters and allowing the public to visually and physically be part of that is just as vital.

The need for research is necessary, but by itself is not fully productive. Research becomes a greater asset to the world when all can share in the data and results. The ocean is just a body of water to most until they have the opportunity to experience it to its fullest.

This is not a new concept to the research or cruise industry, but our method is completely different. Our ships, boats and submarines will be the only corporate, international research, tourism and education partnership vessels in Mexico. Our ships, boats and submarines will take scientists and visitors to the real world of the ocean for a mental and physical experience.
